Finding Love - A Hmong Game
Have you ever tried to find love at the Hmong New Year? Well, if not- here's your chance!
Play "Finding Love - A Hmong New Year Game" to explore the Ex-Sell Energy Center, meet many important people, and find the love of your life.
Please note that this game was made in an entire weekend with the intention to be light-hearted and trash-post quality.
Author's Note:
As a Hmong-American, going to the Hmong New Year celebration was an essential of my childhood. Every year, my parents would bundle me in Hmong clothes and make my sisters and I ball toss for hours. As an adult now, the event holds special meaning to me and I wanted to make a light-hearted game on it.
This project would not have been possible without the following contributions:
- Fight Sound Effect
- Car Driving Sound Effect
- Pipe Sound Effect
- Running Sound Effect
- Menu Theme
- Blueberries Theme - "Blueberries" composed, performed, mixed and mastered by Viktor Kraus
- Friends Theme - Kim Lightyear
- Summer Days Theme
- Downtempo Avenue Theme - Music in this project was created by David McKee (ViRiX Dreamcore) virixcore.net
- Parking Garage Photo
- Convention Booth Photo
- Bedroom Photo
- Living Room Photo
- St Paul Photo
- Renpy Visual Novel Engine (and the many individuals who provided helpful documents on basic visual novel mechanics)
Additionally, thank you to my friends and family who supported me in the process of making this silly game.

Lovely game! I do feel like the silhouette does give it away a little haha. Totally got the good ending first try hehe.
This was very fun. I had to get all the endings before I even got the good ending. The first one I got was the claire ending and at first I thought it was good, but that quickly backfired.
Hi Dahliaf78! Thank you for your comment- Glad you enjoyed the game. I definitely programmed it to be a bit tricky hehe >:)
